Update: Week of March 25, 2013

The 2nd Annual Town Trivia Challenge was a huge success!

A big thank you to the fundraising committee, the town teams, the sponsors, the audience, SAPAtv and all the folks who baked goodies!  I think every seat was filled at the school, and what a great audience you were!  If you missed the event this year, watch for the event on SAPAtv.  If you cannot get SAPAtv, the library will have a DVD copy of the event in the near future.  A special thank you goes out to all the behind the scenes folks who volunteered their time to attend to refreshments, set up and take down the room, wrote trivia questions, made flyers, and promoted the event.

Thursday, March 28th at 7:00 pm
April is National Poetry Month and we are pleased and excited to welcome Vermont's Poet Laureate, Sydney Lea to the Weathersfield Proctor Library.  Lea was appointed to a four-year term as Poet Laureate of Vermont by Governor Peter Shumlin in 2011.  He has written poety, fiction, and essays and was nominate for a Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. During his term as poet laureate, Lea has been visiting libraries around Vermont.  During this evening, you will listen to this poet read some of his poetry, have time to ask questions, and have the opportunity to have your book signed by Sydney Lea.
